Foresight Group has announced a £3 million investment in Federal Holdings Ltd, a contemporary café group, to accelerate its expansion across the North of England.

Founded in 2014 by Claudio Ribeiro, Federal operates three sites in Manchester and one in Leeds, the latter of which opened in December 2025. The group specialises in the high-growth "brunch" segment, offering high-quality food in an informal atmosphere.

The investment, drawn from Foresight’s North West, North East, and West Yorkshire Growth Funds, aims to support a regional rollout strategy. The company plans to expand to 18 sites by 2030, a move expected to create up to 250 jobs across the region.

As part of the deal, seasoned hospitality executive Karen Jones has been appointed as Chairperson. Ms Jones brings extensive experience from roles with brands including Café Rouge, Hawksmoor, and Mowgli.

Foresight has a track record of supporting successful hospitality rollouts, having previously backed Mowgli, 200 Degrees Coffee, and Roxy Leisure.
