Forget Me Not children's hospice is marking the first anniversary of its Holmfirth Bridal Suite with a special open weekend on 14-15 February, inviting brides-to-be and their families to browse without appointment.

The charity's bridal venture has attracted customers from across the region since opening in 2025, with visitors travelling from Newcastle, Cumbria, Lichfield and Peterborough to find their perfect wedding outfit.

While the suite normally operates by appointment only, the Valentine's weekend event will allow visitors to view the full range of new, vintage and pre-loved wedding dresses, bridesmaid gowns and mother-of-the-bride outfits, as well as accessories including shoes, veils, bags and jewellery.

Andrea Titherington-Kay, Forget Me Not's head of retail, said the team had created "a stylish, warm and welcoming space" for brides and their loved ones.

"To be part of such a special occasion in someone's life is an absolute honour and it's so lovely that shopping for a wedding dress can also help the children and families we support too," she said.

The suite stocks dresses in sizes 6 to 24, with prices ranging from £50 to £750 for bridal gowns, £30 to £500 for bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride dresses. Styles include fit and flare, fishtail, straight and cocktail designs from well-known brands.

"People love the great value of our dresses and the fact it's a sustainable option," said Titherington-Kay. "The mix of new and vintage dresses means you can choose from a range of styles and eras to get the look you want for your big day."

The open weekend runs from 9am-4.30pm on Saturday 14 February and 10am-4pm on Sunday 15 February at the Forget Me Not charity shop, 11 Victoria Street, Holmfirth HD9 7DF.
