Golf Centre ‘Putts’ Jobs First

One of the region’s newest family entertainment centres has re-opened following lockdown, with the promise to ‘putt’ jobs first at its £2.5m state-of-the-art facility.

Puttstars, an interactive mini golf experience, has only been able to re-open in York following the latest round of government Pandemic advice. It’s Leeds and Rochdale operations aim to reopen later this month if given the Downing Street green light.
However, despite challenging times, the North Yorkshire venue, located at the new York stadium, is re-grouping just four months on from its official opening, and has promised to maintain the 25 jobs it has created.

Nathan Barwick, Centre Manager at Puttstars York, said: “We’re thrilled to once again be opening the UK’s third Puttstars venue where we are committed to bringing a unique mini golf gaming experience to families and groups across the area.

“Thankfully, we are now able to take bookings despite the unexpected, albeit temporary, Covid shutdown, and we are one of the few places that can promise families a hole-lot of fun in the run up to Christmas.”
Regarding safety, the centre has extensive cleaning and social distancing measures in place. Game booking slots will be appropriately limited to control capacity, and amusement machines as well as bar and dining seating will be spaced out, with signage visible throughout the venue.

Guests are encouraged to pre-book their mini golf slot, and groups will be restricted to a maximum of six people. Customers will also be given the option of wearing disposable gloves.

Puttstars – only available in York, Leeds and Rochdale - offers a unique, modern twist on the noble game, thanks to three interactive nine-hole courses.

The brand is part of the Hollywood Bowl Group, one of the UK’s leading ten-pin bowling businesses with more than 60 centres. Its Leeds Puttstars was the first to open, creating 30 new jobs.
