Jasper Skiing Bounces Back After Fires

The resort of Jasper in Canada is poised to welcome skiers for as little as £294 a week for room and board, following last year’s July wildfire which tore through the park and town.

As the town and nearby resort enters the early days of its winter ski season, the UK’s largest ski travel agency, Iglu Ski is calling on skiers to visit and support the 4,600 locals still rebuilding their livelihoods in the area.

The ski resort itself, Marmot Basin, some 20 kilometres out of town, was unaffected by the fires. However, 30% of structures were affected in the nearby town.

Iglu Ski has a range of hotels, ready and waiting to receive guests this winter and snow has started falling.

Jasper has long been the quintessential Canadian mountain town, and an iconic locale for adventurous skiers, since the lifts began operating there in 1964.

Iglu Ski has a range from 3* inns up to a luxurious Fairmont hotel, all with a jacuzzi and hot tub and many with a sauna. Prices begin at £294 per person for a week at Lobstick Lodge, room only, travel costs are extra.
