LBA Amongst Cheapest UK Airports For Parking – This Bank Holiday At Least!

Leeds Bradford Airport will be amongst the cheapest in the UK for parking this August Bank Holiday weekend…..but in the top five most expensive airports for meet and greet parking at £65.00, more than a one-way flight to Faro (£43), Reus (£50) and Paphos (£60) *.

LBA has a £35 deal for park and ride – one of the best around – but is still up there with some of its other charges according to parking comparison site, Airport Parking Shop (APS).

APS recently reviewed pricing for every UK airport on its platform using a four day break over the bank holiday weekend (23 Aug – 26 Aug) as its benchmark. It found that parking options varied from £20.99 up to £168, depending on which airport people plan to travel from and which type of parking they book.

The research** found that the most expensive airport car park over the bank holiday weekend is at Heathrow, where passengers are being charged £168 to leave a car in the Sofitel short stay car park at Terminal 5, from Friday to Monday. This costs more than flights from Heathrow to Brussels (£158.64), Hamburg (£155.38) and Dusseldorf (£159.98). However, by shopping around they could save £123 by booking a meet and greet parking option (£45) or £132.05 by securing a nearby Park and Ride which comes in at £35.95.

The cheapest airport parking can be found at Glasgow where Glasgow Flying Scot is charging £20.99 for a park & ride option. This is well below the national average of £58.39, and is closely followed by deals at Aberdeen £22.99, Birmingham £26.00 and Bristol £30.00. London City has the most expensive Park and Ride places at £85.50, followed by Stansted at £72.00.

Alice Fowler, Product Manager at Airport Parking Shop: “Doing your research is crucial when it comes to securing a good deal for airport parking. Turning up at the last minute without booking is a sure fire way to end up paying a small fortune. You need to plan ahead and shop around as the best price may not appear on a company’s own website. Using a price comparison site like ours will help you to make an informed decision and save you time comparing prices across many different sites. On average our users save up to 60% on gate prices.”
