Leeds Billboard Celebrates Power Of Dyslexic Entrepreneurs
A striking new billboard on Kirkstall Road, Leeds is part of a national campaign celebrating the role of Dyslexic Thinking in entrepreneurship.
Launched by Virgin StartUp, Made By Dyslexia, and Virgin Unite, the campaign highlights the unique strengths of dyslexic entrepreneurs—such as creativity, problem-solving and big-picture thinking—and aims to inspire the next generation.
According to new research, dyslexic entrepreneurs contribute at least £4.6 billion to the UK economy each year and support more than 60,000 jobs. Around one in three business founders is thought to be dyslexic.
Leeds is one of 46 UK locations chosen for the campaign, which runs until 7 September.
To support dyslexic founders, Virgin StartUp has launched Momentum, a free business accelerator programme designed specifically for entrepreneurs with dyslexia.
Sir Richard Branson, who has spoken openly about how dyslexia shaped his success, said: “Much of my success as an entrepreneur comes from my Dyslexic Thinking. It’s my superpower.”
Kate Griggs, founder of Made By Dyslexia, added: “To boost growth, create jobs, and move the nation forward, the UK has never needed Dyslexic Thinking more.”
