Little Alf And Hannah Announced As Brooke Ambassadors
This week has been a really busy and exciting week for us as we announced our new role as Brooke ‘Every Horse Remembered Ambassadors’.
Brooke is an international charity that protects and improves the lives of the working horses, donkeys and mules that give people in the developing world the opportunity to work their way out of poverty.
Alfie and I have worked with Brooke on campaigns in the past and a couple of months ago they asked us if we would like to join them in a 2018 campaign as ambassadors. I was delighted and we were both up for the challenge.
In 2018 Brooke is marking 100 years since the end of World War One with its Every Horse Remembered Campaign
The Every Horse Remembered Campaign
is about raising awareness for the millions of horses, donkeys and mules that gave their lives in the First World War, as well as the millions of equines that still work around the world today.
As ambassadors for the charity we are going to be highlighting the heroic struggle of working horses past and present and getting involved in a number of campaigns and challenges this year.
In September I will be running the great north run for Brooke. Unfortunately Alfie has to sit this one out, but I’m sure he will be cheering me on from the side lines and helping me in the training process!
I will also be taking part in my second skydive this summer and organising a charity dance to help raise funds and awareness this year.
Alongside this Alfie will be playing a huge role on social media with campaign work and helping spread the word. We are both very excited about our new roles and proud to be supporting such an amazing charity.
The millions of animals who fought in WW1 endured the most horrendous conditions and it is devastating that, right now there are still 100 million equines working in very similar environments around the world.
Every time I work with charities or on campaigns with Alfie it really makes me appreciate the life we have and I hope we can help raise some awareness in 2018.
