Visitors are being invited to enjoy a full week of steam travel, countryside views and classic railway nostalgia as the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway celebrates the Spring Bank Holiday with nine consecutive days of heritage train services.

Running daily from 23rd to 31st May, the popular Yorkshire heritage line will be operating steam trains throughout the week, offering families, railway enthusiasts and day trippers the chance to experience one of Britain’s best loved branch lines at its most atmospheric.

Passengers can climb aboard beautifully restored carriages and settle back for a leisurely journey through five miles of spectacular Worth Valley scenery, travelling between Keighley and Oxenhope.

Whether visitors are planning a family adventure, a relaxed day out with friends or simply fancy spending some time in the company of a steam locomotive, the railway offers a memorable day out for all ages.

With a Day Rover ticket, passengers can hop on and off throughout the day to explore the six distinctive stations along the line, each with its own character and history.

At Oxenhope, the Exhibition Shed provides a rare chance to see historic locomotives and vintage railway vehicles up close, while the Engine Shed museum brings the story of Britain’s steam railways to life through fascinating displays and memorabilia.

At nearby Ingrow, the Carriage Works Museum houses beautifully restored historic carriages alongside a remarkable collection of railway artefacts and signs.

Along the way visitors can browse railway themed gifts and souvenirs in the shops at Haworth and Oxenhope, before relaxing in the on-board Buffet Car, serving real ale, drinks, snacks and confectionery as the countryside rolls past.

At Keighley Station, visitors can step inside the recently launched Water Tower Visitor Centre, offering an interactive glimpse into railway history, while the Old Parcels Office café-bar serves up a fresh new menu for a mid-journey bite to eat.

Plus the children’s play area is the perfect destination for them to let off steam.

Whatever the weather, the Spring Bank Holiday week promises a classic heritage railway experience filled with the sights, sounds and unmistakable scent of steam.
