Potter Space Expands Decades-Long Property Partnership With Biggest Customer

Industrial and logistics (I&L) property company, Potter Space, has expanded its longest-term leasing partnership with national transport and logistics company, Bowker Group. The company is Potter Space’s biggest tenant, occupying 62% of total floorspace across five business parks.

The latest lease renegotiation sees Bowker expand its presence at Potter Space’s business park in Ripon by 51,800 sq. ft., and reaffirm its commitment at other Potter Space sites, extending its leases in line with a 10-year term. These deals bring Bowker’s total floorspace across the Potter Space portfolio to 808,000 sq. ft.

Based in Preston, Lancashire, Bowker Group provides a complete range of transportation and distribution services as well as specialised IT management systems to its customers. The company occupies space in a number of Potter Space Business Parks across the UK, including at Droitwich, which is currently undergoing £18 million of investment as part of Potter Space’s five-year strategic vision.

James Ganley, director at Bowker Group, said: “We have been working closely with the team at Potter Space for many years now and look forward to continuing our partnership as we expand into our new space on the Ripon business park. Our 100-year history is full of successful growth stories, and we are proud to be beginning another decade with Potter Space as our home for business.”

Jason Rockett, managing director, Potter Space, said:
“Our relationship with Bowker Group is special and stretches back decades. We are committed to investing across all our sites and facilitating the growth of our customers. Bowker Group’s expansion and lease renewal is a testament to this strategy, and we are looking forward to maintaining and further strengthening our long-term partnership with them.”

Situated within easy reach of York, Harrogate, Leeds and the North East, Potter Space Ripon has excellent access to the A1(M) corridor. Stretching over 60 acres, the site currently has 20,000 sq. ft. available to let and an additional 90,000 sq. ft. of detailed planning approved. A further application for 23,000 sq. ft. of starter units has been submitted to continue this growth, demonstrating the success of the site as a location for local and national businesses.
