Prohibition’s ‘Socially Unacceptable’ Enters Top-10 Marketing Podcasts
Prohibition, a northern PR agency has launched a brand-new podcast series focusing on marketing mistakes to inspire, motivate, and empower listeners through high-profile guests speaking candidly about their career failures and the defining moments that have influenced their journeys in marketing.
Aptly titled
Socially Unacceptable, the podcast – which is already ten episodes deep – takes listeners on an irreverent and unfiltered journey through the biggest career mistakes and mishaps of renowned industry marketing experts and entrepreneurs.
Socially Unacceptable is hosted by Chris Norton, crisis PR specialist and founder of Prohibition PR, and business partner and joint owner/director Will Ockenden. It sets out to showcase valuable insights, practical tips and expert guidance on social media, PR, and content marketing strategies, as well as very human stories of failure and triumph.
Despite only launching this year, the podcast has already secured eighth place in the UK's top 10 marketing podcasts and its episodes have been viewed more than 30,000 times on YouTube.
Chris Norton commented:
“We all know that everyone makes mistakes, no matter what how much experience or senior they may be. This is how we learn as human beings, so we wanted to bring them to the forefront and showcase the growth opportunities these experiences can provide in a fun informal chat.
“That is exactly why we’ve launched Socially Unacceptable. We want to rewrite the narrative around mistakes by providing a platform for renowned industry experts to not only delve into their career journeys, but to celebrate the important lessons learned through their own trials and tribulations.
“With a guest list of seasoned professionals already building up, we are extremely excited to get them behind the mic and ignite inspiration within those who are listening. Afterall, we all want to know how to turn f*ck ups into triumphs. Now, with Socially Unacceptable, we can find out how!”
Will Ockenden added:
“Podcasting as a marketing discipline is one of the most powerful forms of content marketing; where else can you captivate your audience for 60-minutes or more? But getting it right is not easy; it’s a noisy market and an effective podcast is so much more than simply setting up a mic and hitting record. Our new practice focuses on the entire process from compelling concept to amplification, helping secure brands influence, trust and consideration”.
