Roadchef’s Bright Spark Idea for Lakeland Tourists

Six more 350KW electric vehicle (EV) chargers can now be accessed by Lake District bound tourists.

One of the UK’s leading motorway service operators, Roadchef, has installed the additional EV units at its Killington Lake services on the M6 in Cumbria, located between junctions 36 and 37.

The high-powered GRIDSERVE chargers, with Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors for maximum compatibility, are already fully operational, enabling drivers to fully charge their vehicles in minutes.

They also support contactless payments and provide real-time status updates to several popular EV charging apps and maps.

The new additions complement the existing two medium-power chargers at Killington Lake, which are equipped with both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, further enhancing the location's charging capabilities.

With electric vehicles increasing their market share in the UK, as highlighted by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Roadchef’s continued investment in charging infrastructure is a crucial step in future-proofing Britain’s roads.
