Swap the rolling hills of Tuscany for the seven hills of Sheffield this summer as the city's week-long celebration of quality wine, Sheffield Wine Week, returns.

From Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 June 2025, wine lovers across the Steel City and beyond will be treated to five days of tastings, pairings and fun in venues across the city.

At the centre of the week’s festivities is the newly introduced Wine Week Fest at Bole Hills. On Saturday 21 June, the outdoor festival promises a laid-back day of wine tasting, local food trucks, live music and family-friendly activities, all set against one of Sheffield’s most scenic green spaces. It’s a fitting location for what looks to become a flagship occasion in the city’s cultural calendar.

But Bole Hills is just the beginning. The festival flows throughout the city, with a rich variety of bars, restaurants and retailers getting involved. Returning favourites like Tenaya, The Old Shoe, Elm and Joro are joined this year by new names such as Barks Wine Shop, The Harlequin and Rutland Arms, making the week a true citywide celebration. Whether you’re in Crookes, Kelham Island, the city centre or elsewhere, there’s likely to be a glass waiting for you.

The festival aims to bring people together, to try something new, and to show that wine culture has a natural home here in South Yorkshire. Founders Mike Pomranz and Virginia Myers, from The Old Shoe and Tenaya, respectively, have created a festival that reflects Sheffield’s charm.

The week also showcases the city’s creativity, with its new branding courtesy of Ded Studio. Expect to see colourful designs across posters, social media and merchandise that mirror the energy and diversity of the event itself.

Whether you're a connoisseur or someone who just enjoys a good glass of red with dinner, Sheffield Wine Week is a chance to explore the city through its wine.
