Skipton Landlord Brings Festive Cheer This Christmas

A Skipton landlord is helping to bring a little festive cheer to the high-street and High Corn Mill this Christmas.

After hearing there would be no music on the high street during market days, Andrew Mear stepped in to help. He will use the iconic1978 VW camper van he transformed to feature landmark scenes of Skipton to play festive music supplied by Greatest Hits Radio on market days. On other days, the unmissable camper van will bring a spot of Christmas cheer to the area around High Corn Mill, including late night shopping days which start at the Mill on December 3.

Said Andrew:
“This year has been incredibly tough for so many – particularly in the retail and hospitality sectors, which is why I wanted to help as much as I could. As well as playing music around the Mill, we’ll also be offering visitors to the shops there a festive tipple being supplied courtesy of the Wright Wine Company.

“When I bought the run-down camper, with a view to transforming it back in the summer, this is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind. I really hope it brings smiles to shoppers in Skipton during the festive period!”

From Friday 4th of December, visitors to Skipton’s market will be able to support Parkinson’s UK, as the VW camper will be selling a range of Christmas gifts, including festive slippers and snow globes ranging from £1 to £10 with all proceeds going to the charity.

Dating back to the 12th Century, High Corn Mill, has adapted through the years to provide Skipton residents and businesses with a hub of history and lifestyle choices. With an array of retail outlets and office units, its peaceful, convenient location in the heart of the town has always had sustainability at its core.
