The Chris Slade Timeline, The Night Train, Bradford

The Night Train in Bradford pulled off a coup in getting the Chris Slade Timeline to perform at this new rock venue in the city.

Drummer Chris Slade has had an illustrious career most notably as being in AC/DC, although the band seem to be dormant at the moment Slade is listed as the band's drummer.

Other bands he has played or been a member of include Manfred Mann's Earthband, Uriah Heep and Gary Moore.

Predictably it was the AC/DC songs which made up the bulk of the set; Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheep and Big Gun opened up a set that was as diverse as Slade's career.

Davy's On The Road Again brought a new dimension to the night, the Manfred Mann song sounded as fresh as it did in the mid 70's. Blinded By The Light might have been the first and only Number 1 hit that Bruce Springsteen wrote though it was a hit in 1978 for the Earthband.

A tribute was played to Gary Moore and Phil Lynott as the band performed a touching version of Parisienne Walkways.

Naturally there was a drum solo mid set which showed that Slade has not lost any of his power and precision.

It was soon back to the AC/DC classics such as Thuderstruck and Let There Be Rock before closing with Highway To Hell. A night of classic rock from one of rock music's pure gentleman.
