The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is inviting visitors to discover one of Yorkshire's most unusual dining experiences this summer, combining heritage steam travel with great food and spectacular scenery.

Running throughout July, August and September, the railway's popular Dining Train programme combines great food, heritage travel and some of the finest scenery in Yorkshire, offering a unique day out through the heart of Brontë Country.

Passengers can relax aboard beautifully restored vintage carriages while travelling the five-mile line between Keighley and Oxenhope, enjoying freshly prepared meals served at their table as steam trains wind through the picturesque Worth Valley.

Each dining experience also includes a Day Rover ticket, allowing guests unlimited travel on the railway throughout the day and the opportunity to explore stations, villages and attractions along the route before or after their meal.

The programme includes the ever-popular Afternoon Tea trains, featuring a traditional selection of sandwiches, cakes and sweet treats, alongside the railway's Haworth Haddock experience, where passengers can enjoy fish and chips while taking in the changing views from their carriage window.

Visitors can also choose from a series of seasonal dining experiences including Ploughman's Lunch trains and the popular Italian Job dining experience, each offering a relaxed way to enjoy a day on the railway.

“Our Dining Trains have become one of the most popular ways for people to experience the railway,” said Noel Hartley, Operations & Business Manager of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

“There is something rather special about enjoying good food while travelling through the Worth Valley behind a heritage train.

“Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, meeting friends or simply looking for something different to do, it combines great hospitality with one of Yorkshire's most iconic heritage attractions.

“The fact that every booking also includes unlimited train travel for the day means visitors can really make the most of their time in the valley,” he added.

The summer programme begins on Saturday 11th July and continues throughout the season, with a range of dining experiences available on selected dates.

Advance booking is essential and places are expected to be in high demand during the school summer holidays.
