Ten Yorkshire vineyards across the region have come together to create the Yorkshire Wine Trail to support wine tourism and wine experiences in our region as Yorkshire’s wine industry continues to grow. The trail will launch on 31st March 2026.

The ten vineyards coming together to create the trail are Bay Vineyard, Carlton Towers, Goose Beck, Helme Edge, Holmfirth, Knotfield, Laurel Vines, Leventhorpe, Towthorpe and Yorkshire Heart, covering all parts of our Yorkshire region.

Yorkshire Heart

Yorkshire is a premium wine producing region, with around 16 commercial vineyards producing in excess of 100,000 bottles of wine each year from 9 wineries. The first vineyard was planted at Leventhorpe in 1985. We have seen rapid acceleration since 2015, fuelled by a better climate, new grape varieties suited to the Yorkshire weather and a community of wine makers with over a decade of experience, helping us to grow collectively. By 2026, we now have a number of multi-award winning vineyards.

The Yorkshire Wine Trail is a trip from the West to the East coast heading through the beauty of our Yorkshire regions. Discover diverse wines, beautiful vineyards and new friends along the way, while you sample what each area has to offer. Our vineyards offer excellent hospitality and vineyard tours to showcase the wines produced. The tasting rooms range from having wonderful views of the Pennines to the Yorkshire Wolds to beautiful walled gardens and tranquil valley settings. All have expert teams looking to make every visitor’s experience one to remember.

Should someone visit more than one vineyard in a year we have also launched a Vineyard “Passport”. This personalised card can be collected at any one of the trail vineyards, and then visitors can collect a unique stamp for each wine trail vineyard. Should someone visit all 10 trail vineyards in a year the YWT will acknowledge the achievement with a reward. Please check the individual vineyards websites for opening times and events prior to your arrival.

The wine trail not only shares details of the fantastic local vineyards but also gives details on attractions near the vineyards and restaurants and accommodation. We have worked with Regional Tourist teams and Welcome to Yorkshire to help provide a holistic trail sharing links to attractions, amazing food and wonderful produce along the way to help people get the most from their visit to our vineyards.

The official open day for vineyards will take place on Saturday 4th April—visitors are encouraged to attend a vineyard in their local area, chat with producers, and please check the website or call the vineyard in advance for opening hours.
