UK Locations (UKL) - one of the UK’s filming location agencies - is celebrating one year of working exclusively with regeneration company Urban Splash, managing its nationwide portfolio for film and TV productions.

Over the past 12 months, UKL has positioned Urban Splash’s architecturally striking and historically significant buildings as sought after filming destinations, generating new revenue streams and opening up the portfolio to major production companies.

Key highlights from the first year of collaboration include a project with Greta Gerwig; the renowned Barbie film director will use Urban Splash’s Lister Mills in Bradford as a location this summer. UKL is also currently managing another high-profile film enquiry at the same site, further demonstrating the strong demand the partnership is attracting.

Operating as Urban Splash’s exclusive filming partner, UKL oversees the full end‑to‑end production process on behalf of the developer. This includes scouting, photography, promotion to globally recognised brands, on‑site logistics, contract management and wrap support, ensuring a seamless experience with minimal disruption to occupiers and operational teams.

Lauren York, CEO of UK Locations, said: “Urban Splash has an impressive portfolio of design‑led, versatile and often iconic buildings, each ideal for film and TV productions. We’re thrilled to be celebrating our first year working together, and even more excited about what’s ahead. The scale, adaptability and character of Urban Splash spaces continue to attract high‑profile enquiries, and by unlocking the filming potential across its UK‑wide portfolio, we’re helping the business generate significant new income streams.

“This collaboration is a perfect example of how considered, well‑managed filming activity can benefit both property partners and the wider creative economy.”

Looking ahead, UKL is working with Urban Splash to use one of its locations for filming for an exciting upcoming adaptation of a successful film franchise for a major streaming platform.

Rachel Thomas, Head of Brand at Urban Splash, commented: “We’ve really enjoyed working with UK Locations this year. We have an interesting portfolio of buildings with a story and heritage, UKL understands the character and potential, unlocking opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t have been accessible.

“I’m proud that this partnership has put Urban Splash places on the radar of world-class production teams. The team has managed the entire process with professionalism and care, ensuring our occupiers and onsite operations experience minimal disruption.

“This partnership has not only generated valuable new revenue streams, but it has also elevated the profile of our portfolio within the film and TV industry. We’re excited to continue building on this momentum and to see more of our buildings play a part in high-profile productions in the months and years ahead.”

Established 18 years ago, UKL’s proven model, which is built on strong industry relationships, operational expertise and a deep understanding of production requirements, enables partners like Urban Splash to unlock untapped potential within their property portfolios.
