When the World Went to Sleep

Listen to Julie read her poem ...
Trees bowed down
mountains held stars,
oceans slumped wide.

Roads parked memories
engines purred low,
lights turned cold.

I sat and watched
the grass lay down,
leaves hovered still.

Walls held night
my window misted,
the moon and me.
