When the World Went to Sleep

Trees bowed down
mountains held stars,
oceans slumped wide.

Roads parked memories
engines purred low,
lights turned cold.

I sat and watched
the grass lay down,
leaves hovered still.

Walls held night
my window misted,
the moon and me.
