Two York entrepreneurs are offering employers a fully-funded programme combining leadership coaching with occupational therapy to improve workplace inclusion and wellbeing.
Elaine Morris, founder of Curious Edge, and Lizzie Huxford, co-founder of OT4me, have partnered to deliver the Thrive At Work - Inclusive Futures Programme across York and North Yorkshire in January, February and March.
The initiative, funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority through the Department for Work and Pensions' Get Britain Working Economic Inactivity Trailblazer, consists of three full-day interactive workshops in Harrogate and Malton. Sessions in Tadcaster are fully booked, with a reserve list operating.
The programme helps managers develop coaching skills and inclusive HR practices whilst offering expertise in neurodiversity and workplace sensory needs. One-to-one coaching is available for employees at risk of sick leave.
Ms Morris, a qualified executive coach with 20 years' experience in consumer research, said: "Our programme supports organisations in developing more confident, inclusive leaders and creating workplaces where everyone feels they belong and do their best work."
Ms Huxford, a specialist occupational therapist, said the service includes workplace sensory audits to identify triggers and opportunities for adjustment. "It may be as simple as creating a quiet area or changing a lightbulb," she said. "These changes can often help your whole team to function better."
The Harrogate workshops take place on 4th and 24th February and 19th March, with Malton sessions on 29th January, 23rd February and 16th March.
David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, said the initiative tackles barriers preventing people accessing quality jobs by giving businesses tools to create more supportive workplaces.
