Christmas Spotlight: Siobhan Atkinson

Yet again for 2023, we’re bringing back our popular festive spotlight — featuring businesspeople from across the north. On each day of Advent, we’ll be quizzing a notable name with 10 quickfire questions, covering the past year and their plans for the festive season. And they’re only allowed one word answers…

Next up it’s Siobhan Atkinson, CEO at Huddersfield Town Foundation…

1. Looking back at 2023, what word would you use to sum it all up, for your business?

2. And what word describes how you’d like to see 2024 begin?

3. What’s the one word from this year that you’ve heard the most?

4. And the one you hope to hear more of in the 12 months ahead?

5. Which fellow regional business has most impressed you this year?

I would have to pick out TFS, Caterers Choice and CV Graphics for their support of funding towards Huddersfield Town Foundation Breakfast Clubs.

6. What’s the best Christmas gift you’ve ever bought for someone else?

My mum collected the figures from Raymond Briggs’ ‘The Snowman’ and was missing one piece – I managed to find it being sold on ebay! It completed the collection, and she was so happy!

7. And the worst one you’ve ever received?

I don’t think I’ve ever had anything I’ve not liked! I guess friends and family know me well. I think more about their kindness to even give me a gift over what is inside!

8. What’s your favourite thing that will be on your Christmas dinner plate?

Pigs in blankets!

9. Describe the festive season in one word.

10. What message do you have for your friends, family, colleagues and peers as they welcome in 2024? (you can have more than one word for this one!)

Keep everything in life in perspective – work is important but so too are family and friends so make time for them and cherish the fun you have. Be positive when times are tough, solutions are easier to find. Finally, keep remembering there is no rule book to life – we continually keep learning!
