El Gato Negro - A Taste Of Spain Returns To Leeds

If the chances of you getting away on a plane this year are diminishing as the weeks go by and that Iberian experience seems to be slipping through your fingers quicker than the sunset from Cafe Mambo in Ibizia then all is not lost.

El Gato Negro on Park Row in Leeds has re opened. The popular restaurant, which earlier this year was crowned Best Overall Restaurant and Best World Restaurant in the 2020 Oliver Awards, will operate four days a week initially (Thursday to Sunday), with extended hours of food service providing guests with the opportunity to enjoy dining late into the evening.

Guests looking to extend their evening further are invited to settle in for the night on the restaurant’s first floor, where they can enjoy a wide selection of after-dinner drinks including cocktails, wine and beer.

El Gato Negro, Park Row, opening hours:

The new Collection menu includes a broad number of the restaurant’s much-loved dishes including meatballs in tomato fritarda sauce, salt cod croquetas, piquillo pepper purée and aioli and bravas, and patatas bravas with spiced tomato fritarda sauce and aioli. A selection of wines and soft drinks are also available when ordered alongside food.

Returning alongside the popular restaurant’s new features is El Gato Negro’s popular Tipsy Tapas, which invites diners to enjoy three select tapas dishes and bottomless Cava, Bellini, beer, or house wine for 90 minutes from the point of order and for just £30pp.

The restaurant’s Three for £15 menu is the perfect alternative for those looking to simply experience El Gato Negro’s signature dishes or a lighter bite. Tipsy Tapas is available every Saturday and Sunday 12pm – 5pm and the Three for £15 menu every Thursday and Friday from 2pm to 5pm.

For guests looking for an extra special way of reuniting with friends and family or to mark belated events, El Gato Negro’s private dining room, with its own mini bar and audio and presentation facilities, is the perfect space.

El Gato Negro reopens with the strictest safety measures in place including distanced seating, regular and enhanced deep cleaning, hand sanitising stations, contactless payment (where possible) and laminated menus which are cleaned after every use.

Somehow the sunsets over Leeds might not match those in Ibiza or mainland Spain but the dishes at El Gato Negro appear to taste just as good as those you might taste from Bilbao to Barcelona or from Madrid to Murcia.
