Silver Screen Weekly - What's Coming Up At The Cinema From Friday 27 October 2023
Our film critic and media correspondent has been looking and trawling the new releases. Here's what you can see on the big screen this week.
From Friday 27th October
Liam Neeson is back in action in his latest action vehicle (literally)! The story sees Neeson play Matt Turner, a financier at Nanite Capital in Berlin, whose job is straining his relationship somewhat with his wife and kids. However, one morning on the school run, Matt is contacted by an anonymous caller, who has informed him that there is a pressure-triggered explosive under the car seat that will go off unless Matt does exactly as this mysterious bomber asks. Retribution
is a riveting thriller that sees Neeson do what he does best!
Doctor Jekyll (18)
Eddie Izzard stars in this bold and intoxicating take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s iconic story, as Izzard plays the eponymous doctor who has taken the pharmaceutical industry to new heights but her success came at a cost and has forced her into isolation with her demons! This modern re-imagining from the iconic Hammer Horror studios is a film that demands to be seen and experienced and boasts a delightful lead performance in a psychedelic horror drama tour de force.
