Monday 11th May Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur v Leeds United 20:00.
Leeds has had to battle through a rough start to the season, with many writing them off before a ball was kicked, given the performances of manager Daniel Farke in his previous time in the Premier League with Norwich City.
Despite being outplayed in only a few games, Leeds faced a bleak situation until a system change against Manchester City in late November revitalised their performance. Since then, the Whites have only lost four league matches and currently sit in 14th place with 43 points.
Usually, that points tally would have already confirmed safety, but with most relegation-threatened sides now entering title-winning form, the points needed for any semblance of safety rise each week.
Tottenham has had one of the most confusing seasons of their history, with a merry-go-round of managers coming in to try to steer a big six club away from the drop zone. First, Thomas Frank had the helm at the start of the season but looked a world away from his success at Brentford.
After he was sacked, Igor Tudor did nothing to help steady the ship and was let go with zero wins to his name. Now it has been down to ex-Brighton manager De Zerbi, who has been the only one to have inspired Spurs to sustained levels of performance with an unbeaten run of three games.
Leeds have already put in multiple stellar performances against top-six sides, including wins over Chelsea and Manchester United alongside surprise draws with Manchester City and Liverpool. They have showed that they can compete with those sides that have expectations of winning.
A season of hard work and togetherness was rewarded away from Yorkshire at the weekend as West Ham’s loss to title-chasing Arsenal confirmed the Whites will be back in the top flight next season. A titanic achievement when taken in the context of how difficult it has been for promoted sides to compete.
With safety secured, an FA Cup semi-final, and a victory at Old Trafford for the first time in four decades, Daniel Farke and his team can reflect on a season where expectations were exceeded and Leeds re-established themselves as a formidable force in the Premier League.

Tuesday, 12th May Skybet Championship Playoffs: Southampton v Middlesbrough 20:00
The drama continues in the championship with the first leg of a battle between north and south as Boro makes the long trip down to St. Mary's.
It has been a long season for both sides, but one that ended in a much more favourable way for the Saints. Under Tonda Eckhart, things on the south coast have been a breeze with just one loss in the FA Cup in their last 23 matches.
You would have to go all the way back to the 17th of January for the last time. The Saints were beaten in the league, and since then it has been a tale of success that lifted them into the lofty position of fourth as compared to the start of the season under Will Still, in which relegation was looking the most likely outcome.
With regards to Boro, thoughts of promotion have been on everyone’s mind for the majority of the season. Only champions Coventry spent more than Middlesbrough’s 217 days in the automatic promotion places, but a seven-match winless run from mid-March to late April gave them an unassailable gap to close.
A 2-2 draw with Wrexham on the final day meant it was a fifth spot for Boro, level at 80 points with Southampton, who took fourth with just one better goal difference.
Despite a barren run towards the end of the season, Middlesbrough are currently four matches unbeaten, and with home advantage, they could surprise, having shown they can compete with anyone in the division, even if they're not the favourites.
Despite all of the action both have been involved in, with goals galore being a fixture of both teams' run-ins, the first leg ended with a 0-0 draw despite a flurry of chances for Boro, who dominated proceedings without a breakthrough.
There has been drama behind the scenes too, with it emerging that a member of Southampton staff was caught spying on Middlesbrough training. With sanctions predicted for The Saints and manager Tonda Eckhart refusing to answer questions on it in his post-match interview, there are still potential sparks to fly in this one not only in the return leg but for weeks to come.

Thursday 14th May Skybet League One Playoff: Bradford City v Bolton Wanderers 20:00
There is more Yorkshire playoff action on Thursday as the West Riding and Valley Parade host the second leg of a playoff tie that saw the Bantams fall to a 1-0 defeat in Lancashire.
It has been a shock run for Bradford, who were expected to take things slow in their return to League One with a solid but unspectacular season.
It has been anything but that, however, with the Bantams instead crafting a successful season in which for brief periods they looked like heading straight up to the championship at the first time of asking.
Things became inconsistent towards the end of the regular season, with just three wins in their last ten matches, but they still managed to earn a highly respectable 77 points, finishing fourth.
Bolton is in a similar position, where they have a pedigree and expectations of being higher up the pyramid. Their journey back to the top of the English pyramid was accelerated by a play-off season, where they finished just two points behind Bradford in fifth.
The first playoff concluded with a narrow 1-0 scoreline, as a courageous performance from Bolton prevented Bradford from scoring any shots on target.
Bolton only had one more shot on target but made it count with a 60th-minute winner from Cosier-Duberry, which splits the deadlock heading into leg two.
Bolton also dominated possession, holding 65% of the ball, but this is expected to change at Valley Parade, where a heated crowd and aspirations for success aim to unnerve Wanderers and invigorate the Bantams in a match that could become the greatest day in the recent history of both teams.

Friday 15th May Betfred Super League: Wakefield Trinity v Catalans Dragons 20:00.
The midweek concludes with the return of the Super League, following a week of Challenge Cup action, with teams eager to compete, including the two sides in this match, both vying for a spot in the top six.
Wakefield have come a long way from their reputation as a yoyo club to now be in a healthy position with a together squad that looks to be a real threat once again in the top flight.
Trinity find themselves currently in sixth, which is where they ended their campaign in 2025, but having taken the huge step of getting to the playoffs, it ended with a loss to Leigh in the first round.
This year, Powell will be hoping he can steer his men further into the top six and through the later rounds of the playoffs. Six wins from their opening two matches puts them in a healthy position, two points clear of falling out of sixth place.
But this week comes a challenger who needs to make up those two points with a win; Catalans have looked solid, if not a little inconsistent, with five losses and five wins from their first ten.
Both sides come into this with back-to-back losses in the Super League behind them, and with a week off for the Challenge Cup, it's expected the boys will come back in fighting form and be ready to make headway in the direction of progress.
For Wakefield, a bitter loss to their local rivals, the Leeds Rhinos, at Headingley will have left them eager for redemption. Leeds Rhinos at Headingley will have left Wakefield eager for redemption, while the Dragons suffered a 33-10 defeat at home against a Leigh side that subsequently leapfrogged them in the league, leaving the Dragons with additional points to prove if they wish to make a sustained effort to break into the top six.
This one could be an interesting view into who looks more equipped for a playoff and title push; many will have Wakefield as favourites as they are higher in the league and with home advantage, but no team can be counted out from a Super League campaign that has already been full of surprises.
