Zizzi Introduce The Smoky Chilli-infused Dough Pizza

With so much competition in the pizza restaurant market there needs to be something a bit different to make you stand out.

The Zizzi pizza restaurant chain have just launched the new Smoky Chilli-infused Dough. Yes, I know it does sound something that you will either like or dislike. Do you want to feel like your mouth is hotter than something that Mount Etna might erupt out of?

You can upgrade your pizza for £1.00 extra and have the Smoky Chilli-infused Dough as your base. It pays to be careful though which pizza you choose as you would have to have a strong constitution to stomach one of the hotter pizzas such as those with peppers on or chillies and have a Smoky Chilli Dough base.

I chose the Sofia Rustica pizza with the spicy chicken (of which there was plenty), pepperoni, crumbled piccante Basilicata sausage and mozzarella but I decided upon not having the red chillies on top.

It looked tempting when it arrived but to be honest I didn't think that the Smoky Chilli-infused Dough made much of a difference to the rest of the pizza. I was glad though that I had a big glass of water by my side as the whole combination was very hot. Like all Zizzi pizzas it was tasty and authentic.

Thankfully the dessert menu has plenty of choices to cool you down. My partner decided on the Baked Lemon & Raspberry Cheesecake which was good but not dazzling.

Pudding for me was the Salted Caramel Chocolate Brownie - served warm and injected with gooey salted caramel served with giant white chocolate curls, rich hot chocolate sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. If that sounds like a guilty pleasure then yes it was, you can even feel the calories being consumed as you say its name. I'm definitely guilty as I adored it.

If you need any excuse to go along to Zizzi then the new Smoky Chilli Dough is as good as any, but just remember to order a big glass of water to go with your order.
