Top 50 Singles: 20-11

Continuing our countdown from 20 to 11...

20 Lianne La Havas - Age

19 Nell Bryden - Sirens

Sum up the single in one sentence...

Difficult song for me to write, took ten years before I felt like I could... It's about my time in my hometown NYC, living in lower Manhattan on 9/11.

What is the funniest feedback you have received for the single?

Hmm, funny? Well, Gary Barlow said he was driving when he heard it on the radio, and he has a problem driving - not a George Michael problem, he says - but when he hears something he loves, he has to pull over the car to listen because he couldn't multi-task.

What is the worst feedback you received?

To be honest, I haven't received much negative feedback on this, probably because it's a sensitive topic. Some radio stations said it was too slow, but Radio 2 really got behind it.

What are your own thoughts...

Less about the horror of that day, and more about healing and moving on. Means even more to me now, having been home in NYC during hurricane Sandy.

18 Willy Moon - Yeah Yeah

17 The Lumineers - Ho Hey

16 Gotye ft. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

15 Natalie Duncan - Sky Is Falling

Sum up the single in one sentence...

Dark and desolate.

What is the funniest feedback you have received for the single?

Is 'Sky Is Falling' based on the children's story, 'The Sky Is Falling Down' featuring henny penny and chicken licken?

What is the worst feedback you received?

The song's structure is too unconventional.

What are your own thoughts...

I like the slap back delay on my vocals, it gives it a bleak, melancholic soundscape which reminds me of Pink Floyd.

14 Rebecca Ferguson - Glitter and Gold

13 Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

12 San Cisco - Awkward

Sum up the single in one sentence...

Awkward has pretty much all the elements of your classic pop song.

What is the funniest feedback you have received for the single?

Someone said it is a great song to make babies to.

What is the worst feedback you received?

We have had lots of bad feedback. Mostly from youtube nerds. Usually something to do with how simple yet annoyingly catchy the song is.

What are your own thoughts...

I also love how simple yet annoyingly catchy it is. Also, It was a great leg up for the band.

11 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
