As we near the end of a landmark year following the gradual return to ‘normality’ post-Covid, we grab 60 seconds with Caroline Pullich, Managing Partner at NFU Mutual, Boston Spa Agency, in an exclusive for the p.ublished group of online newspapers, reflecting on 2022…

1. After a difficult time for many businesses during the pandemic, what was your primary objective at the start of the year?

Primary objective was to fully gain a understanding of NFU Mutual & NFU & review Culture of the existing team. To look at innovative ways of growing the business and creating a customer centric environment.
Also meeting some customers & introducing myself to market.

2. Looking back on 2022, what have been the 3 biggest highlights for NFU Mutual?

The three biggest highlights are Recruitment of seven new colleagues to the team. Having the support from existing stakeholders who continue to want to work with me & winning some clients that I knew through my previous contacts. We completed a great Team Building session with Helen Green, MD Orient8 Consulting Ltd off-site at Rudding Park where we got to know each other better & to share the Vision & Plans of the Business.

3. And the most difficult challenge for your business?

Most difficult challenge was the recruitment which was time consuming in finding the right key people.

4. If you had to sum up 2022 in one word, which would you use?

Transformational

5. What’s SPG Resourcing key goal for next year?

Growth for the business in winning new business plus retaining existing customers & exceeding their expectations. To ensure our USP continues as a relationship based business where customers can always get hold of us & we are able to support them.

6. Name another northern firm that hope will have an outstanding year in 2023…

Too many to mention and would want all of our customers to be successful!

7. How do you think the regional business climate will fare overall?

People buy people & I think local businesses & communities will continue to thrive. I am seeing several businesses diversify their model & to be innovative. Also people are starting to network again which will help grow businesses.

8. It’s perhaps the first opportunity to celebrate a ‘real’ Christmas post-Covid – what will it look like for you?

I will be spending Xmas at home with my partner Richard & family & our Cockapoo Coco. I am looking forward to drinking champagne, cooking Turkey & Beef from Fodder & watching some great TV.

9. What’s the worst Christmas gift you’ve ever been given?

A Phil Collins CD.

10. Describe Christmas at your house, in three words ...

Festive, Fun & Family
