As we near the end of a landmark year following the gradual return to ‘normality’ post-Covid, we grab 60 seconds with Mary Jane Greenhalgh, Co Founder at the new online Magazine G&J The Edit
in an exclusive for the p.ublished group of online newspapers, reflecting on 2022…

1. After a difficult time for many businesses during the pandemic, what was your primary objective at the start of the year?

To see as many people face to face as I could as I really missed this - video meetings are great but it is so helpful too to be able to meet people too and helps spark ideas and keep things fresh!

2. Looking back on 2022, what have been the 3 biggest highlights for G&J The Edit

Launching the online magazine, the lovely feedback we have received about how we have grown in concept and numbers, working with brilliant like-minded people - it makes all the difference!

3. And the most difficult challenge for your business

Balancing the practical side with our passion. And with
life!

4. If you had to sum up 2022 in one word, which would you use?

Determination? Appreciation? Connection? Sorry that is three!

5. What’s your key goal for next year?

Growth. Connecting with more people, sharing stories and things we love/ or not.

6. Name another northern firm that hope will have an outstanding year in 2023…

7. How do you think the regional business climate will fare overall?

Given what we have all been through, people are keen to support local businesses and look after their local environment more than ever which is key to a sustainable and successful future.

8. It’s perhaps the first opportunity to celebrate a ‘real’ Christmas post-Covid – what will it look like for you?

9. What’s the worst Christmas gift you’ve ever been given?

A wooden hook to hang bananas on!
